Our Story in Meursault
The Jobard Morey Estate is, above all, a family story, born from the beautiful union of two families passionate about viticulture for several generations. On one side, the Jobard family, whose grandfather already cultivated vines in Meursault with love and precision, is heir to a know-how passed down from father to son. On the other side, the Morey family, also owners of vines on these emblematic Burgundy lands. In 1949, just after the Second World War, their union gave birth to the estate as we know it today.
An Estate at the Heart of the Côte de Beaune
Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the estate spans 6 hectares, primarily surrounding Meursault, a renowned terroir of Burgundy.
Over the years, the family has carefully cultivated recognised appellations, such as Meursault 1er Cru, Meursault Village, Meursault Rouge, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, Auxey-Duresses, and many other cuvées that reflect the richness and diversity of the terroir.
Each generation has contributed to the estate's development, consolidating its reputation through hard work and an unwavering passion for vines and wine. We are proud of this heritage and strive to preserve it.
The Transmission and Future of the Estate
In 2015, a new generation took over: Valentin, the grandson of the founders, took the reins of the estate with passion. He has always dreamed of continuing the family legacy. His ambition is to preserve his grandparents’ know-how, remain faithful to the estate's identity, and continue to highlight the work of the soils, the expression of the wines, and the uniqueness of each vintage.
His energy and modern vision, combined with respect for traditions, ensure a promising future for the JOBARD MOREY ESTATE. To learn about our approach to winemaking and our dedication to the terroir, we invite you to visit Our Philosophy page.
